[Spoiler Alert] Heroes S03E23 - 1961: How was "The Company" really formed?

So Heroes is really contradicting itself! In the latest episode 1961, it appears that the company was founded by Angela Petrelli, Linderman, Charles Deveaux and Bob Bishop. Now that seems plausible by itself but not in the light of what we know from the Graphic Novel: War Buddies Part 5. There's an implied suggestion that Linderman and Petrelli got together at the end of Vietnam war in 1968 to start a partnership that then became the company.

So what is true? Angela and the gang of little boys starting the company in 1961 or Linderman and Petrelli starting it in 1968? The story becomes more complicated, given that if Angela knew Linderman in 1961, then was she already running the Company when she married Arthur? After all we see baby Nathan toddling in the Graphic Novel when Linderman comes home and so I guess its been at least a couple of years since they'd been married! And why did Linderman show no recognition of Angela when he walked into their home?

What's true?

This?

Or this?

Unanswered questions -- after all this is Heroes! I hate the cyclic nature of the stories, but I'm so addicted that I can't quit.
