And it does a pretty neat job, provided you comprehend and use the settings wisely. There's a 10 day, no limitation trial which should help you evaluate the purchase. I'd say if doing cheesy stuff like this interests you, then you should just go for it!

To be honest, $72 feels a bit high to me. There are likely plugins for The Gimp that do the same, and I know for sure that effect comes as part of Photoshop Elements (which comes with a TON of other stuff). Cool effect, but not enough to be impressed by the price.
